2008 USF Nobel Laureate in Science Lecture
The 2008 USF Nobel laureate in science lecture is being hosted this year by the CMM division of the biology department. The speaker we have lined up is Dr Aaron Ciechanover, who won the Nobel prize for chemistry in 2004 for his work on the discovery of ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation. He will be visiting the USF campus from the morning of Thursday May 1st until around noon on Friday May 2nd, and will deliver his Nobel address entitled "The Ubiquitin Proteolytic System - From a Vague idea, thru Basic Mechanisms and onto Human Diseases and Drug" at 6:30pm on Thursday May 1st at Traditions hall. A flyer is attached with more details.
We at CMM want to give the BITT faculty every opportunity to meet and interact with Dr Ciechanover whilst he is here at USF, in addition to personally inviting you all to attend his lecture. If any of you are interested you can email me directly (Les Shaw, lshaw@cas.usf.edu) and I will work you into his evolving schedule.
Cheers,
Les.
